Terms of Service

Last updated: August 13, 2026

These Terms govern your access to and use of splento.ai (the “Service”), a library of ready-to-post videos for hospitality businesses. By creating an account, downloading a video or subscribing, you agree to these Terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm you may bind it.

Who this service is for

splento.ai is a business-to-business service, intended for restaurants, cafés and other venues marketing their own products. Consumer protection rules may still apply if you buy outside your trade — where they do, they take precedence over these Terms, and our Refund & Cancellation Policy explains how.

Your account

You sign in with a one-time link sent to your email address, or with Google. You are responsible for keeping access to that mailbox secure and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you believe someone else has access. One account belongs to one business; sharing credentials across organisations is not permitted.

Plans, prices and billing

The free tier lets you browse the library and download watermarked videos. Paid plans — Basic (£9.90/month), Standard (£29.90/month) and Pro (£59.90/month) — remove the watermark and include a monthly token allowance. Prices are in pounds sterling and shown before you pay; taxes, where applicable, are shown at checkout.

Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled, and we charge the payment method on file on each renewal date. Payments are processed by our payment provider; we do not store your card details. If a payment fails we may retry it and may suspend paid features until it succeeds.

Changing to a higher plan takes effect immediately, is charged at the new plan’s full price, and starts a new monthly cycle from that moment — there is no monetary credit for the unused part of the previous plan. You see this on the confirmation screen before paying.

We may change prices. A change never applies to a period you have already paid for, and we give notice before it takes effect on your next renewal.

Tokens

Paid plans include tokens, a service allowance used inside splento.ai. Tokens are not money, not stored value and not transferable: they are granted at the start of each billing cycle and any unused balance expires at the end of that cycle. They cannot be exchanged, sold or cashed out, and ending a plan ends future grants.

Your licence to the videos

The videos, and the platform itself, remain our property or that of our licensors. When you download a video, we grant you a worldwide, non-exclusive, perpetual licence to use that copy to market your own business — on social media, your website, in-venue screens, menus and paid advertising for your venue.

You may not:

  • resell, sublicense or redistribute the videos as stock content, on their own;
  • claim authorship or exclusivity — the same video may be licensed to other businesses;
  • use the videos to train machine-learning models;
  • remove, obscure or circumvent a watermark on free-tier files, or use watermarked previews as if they were licensed content;
  • use the videos in a way that misrepresents your own products (for example presenting a dish you do not serve as your own photography of that dish).

Videos already downloaded under a paid plan stay licensed to you after you cancel. The licence ends if your account is terminated for breach of these Terms.

AI-generated content

Videos in the library are generated with AI and reviewed by us before publication. They depict generic dishes and settings, not your premises or your staff, and they are not photographs of the food you serve. Because they are AI-generated, you agree to turn on the platform’s AI-content label when you post them, where the platform or the law requires it — the disclosure is made by whoever posts the content, and we cannot make it for you. You are responsible for making sure that the way you use a video is accurate and complies with advertising rules in your market.

Content you upload

If you upload material, you keep ownership of it and grant us the licence needed to store, process and display it in order to run the Service. You confirm you have the rights to the material you upload. Everything published to the public library passes human moderation — nothing goes live automatically — and we may decline or remove material at our discretion.

Acceptable use

Do not use splento.ai to break the law, infringe anyone’s rights, misrepresent your business, scrape or bulk-download the library, probe or overload our infrastructure, or resell access. We may suspend or terminate accounts that do, and we will refund any unused paid period unless the breach was deliberate.

Availability and support

We work to keep the Service available, but it is provided “as is” without warranty of uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may change or discontinue features; if we discontinue something you are paying for, you may cancel and we refund the unused part of the period. Support is by email at [email protected].

Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, and to the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for lost profits, lost revenue or indirect losses, and our total liability in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period.

Privacy

How we handle personal data — including analytics and advertising cookies, which we only set with your consent where consent is required — is described in our Privacy Policy.

Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel at any time; cancellation stops the next renewal and access continues to the end of the paid period. Refund rules, including the 14-day right for consumers and how downloading affects it, are in the Refund & Cancellation Policy.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory rules in your country of residence.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. For material changes we give notice in the Service or by email before they take effect; continued use afterwards means you accept them. The date at the top shows when this version was published.
